Meet BJU's Department of Integrative Medicine
At Beijing United Family Hospital (BJU), we offer a comprehensive healthcare unit: the Department of Integrative Medicine. It is made up of 15 experts with five different specialties: Nutrition, Naturopathy, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and Chiropractic and Osteopathy. They speak a combined four languages (Mandarin, English, French, and Spanish).
Nutrition
Good nutrition is not just great for maintaining your everyday health; it can also lead to long-term benefits like increasing your life expectancy and boosting the quality of your health. Many health concerns can be prevented by eating healthily and taking moderate physical exercise.
Naturopathy
This field of medicine specializes in the use and prescription of natural medicines, nutritional supplements, and herbal remedies based on the concept of the healing power of nature. With Naturopathy, we seek to optimize health through diet and other natural therapies.
Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation
Our physiotherapists and rehabilitative staff support patients’ needs with hands-on treatment. This can include designing training programs after an injury or surgery, or using machines (ultrasound, short waves, biofeedback) to help you heal. Our Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation experts work in coordination with colleagues in other departments within the hospital, like Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Sports Medicine, and OB-GYN, and with other medical staff holding clinical expertise in musculoskeletal functional disorders.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Our TCM team provides care that is based on 3,000 years of medical wisdom that focuses on maintaining balance in the body. We can help rebalance your qi using acupuncture, cupping, tuina, and herbal prescriptions.
Chiropractic and Osteopathy
Our highly specialized physicians will perform a musculoskeletal assessment on you and treat you through manipulative adjustments of the spine and peripheral joints. They strive to restore balance to the structure and function of your body, applying the laws of biomechanics to the benefit of your posture. The spine is our tree of life and needs to be maintained properly.
